The day after we got back from the Hiroshima field trip, there was a festival called Tanabata, or Star Festival. It was in downtown Osaka so it was pretty close.
First I met up with Davit at Osaka Castle, where we got in for free because we’re students and didn’t have to pay $6, so that was pretty nice.
The main part of the festival is when they put all these little blue lights in the river and you can watch them float, similar to the stars that you can’t see above.
I think that the majority of this is best explained the the usual video and picture compilation, so I’ll just leave that here.
Blue lights look very cool..but for sure, you need a hat!! Glad you have a friend to explore with and get in castles free😊! Excellent you are eating a good breakfasts, as seems you are walking everywhere! Very cool Japanese style buildings. Fun to see all..
Thanks for sharing your adventures….💕
Looks great! I can’t believe “the hat” is gone, forever in Japan. What was the significance of walking under the circle of sticks ? I liked that little kid’s ladybug backpack. Also, I noticed some women at the festival in traditional dress, do people do that a lot? I would have liked to see the blue lights…
Love you lots, thanks for sharing!
